In addition, Bern advised on the issuance of public and private bonds on behalf of a variety of entities throughout New Jersey, including hospitals, schools, municipalities, pharmaceutical companies, manufacturers, youth organizations and others.

Following admission to the Bar, Bern became an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey and was appointed deputy chief of the Civil Division in 1974. Prior to entering private practice, he was Assistant Counsel for First National State Bancorporation, which merged with Wachovia Bank.
