Henry J. Amoroso

Henry J. Amoroso is of counsel with the firm's Corporate & Securities Group. Henry's practice concentrates in commercial transactions and contractual disputes, with experience in strategic analysis and turnaround development for large public and private sector institutions. Henry specializes in representing school boards, public agencies, health care systems, government entities, as well as complex matters related to financial transactions and capital markets.


Prior to joining the firm, Henry was a founding partner of Nowell Amoroso Klein Bierman, P.A, where he practiced for nearly 30 years. He is a tenured Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Economics and Legal Studies at Seton Hall University, Stillman School of Business, where he is also the Director of the Micah Center for Business Ethics. Henry often lectures to corporations, business groups and academic forums on business, government and legal issues. 

Henry is also the Principal and Founder of HJA Strategies, a strategic consulting firm with a specialization in managing periods of distress and transition for governments, hospital systems, and other businesses, as well as providing experience in business development and expansion policies.

Serving on several boards, Henry maintains an active presence in the regional and national non-profit community, sitting on the boards of the Victoria Foundation, the Augustine Institute, United Cerebral Palsy of New York City, and Chairing the Board of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark. 

He also has served on several transition teams for incoming mayors and executives. He previously served as CEO for two major regional hospital systems and is currently the Principal Legal Advisor for the Bilateral Permanent Working Commission Between the Holy See and the State of Israel. 

Henry received his J.D. from Delaware Law School (now Widener University School of Law) and earned his B.A. from Villanova University. He served his judicial clerkship in the Law Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey.
