OSHA Issues Workplace Posters to Reduce Risk of Coronavirus Exposure

Last updated April 14, 2020

On April 8, 2020, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration ("OSHA") issued a new Workplace Poster (available in English or Spanish) providing recommended steps to keep the workplace safe during the pandemic.

The poster recommends ten infection prevention measures all workplaces can take to reduce the risk of exposure to coronavirus.

The safety measures include encouraging sick workers to stay home, establishing flexible work sites and staggered work shifts, discouraging workers from using other workers' phones, desks and other equipment and using EPA-approved cleaning chemicals with label claims against the coronavirus.

The poster is the latest effort by OSHA to educate and protect American workers and employers during the pandemic. OSHA has issued a series of guidances on the coronavirus.

We recently highlighted OSHA's "Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19," a guidance to help workers and employers learn about ways to protect themselves and their workplaces during the ongoing pandemic.

The Poster and other OSHA guidances regarding COVID-19 can be found on OSHA's coronavirus webpage.
