CSG's Schwartz Recognized as a Trailblazer by the New Jersey Law Journal

Daniel A. Schwartz, Managing Member of Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (“CSG”), has been selected by the New Jersey Law Journal as a 2020 New Jersey Trailblazer, a recognition of professionals who have made significant marks on the practice, policy and technological advancement of law in the State.

From evolving the firm’s organizational management to model a corporate structure, to overseeing the swift implementation of the infrastructure that has kept the CSG family together throughout the COVID-19 crisis, Dan has demonstrated a consistent appetite for innovation, adaptability, compassion and leadership throughout his more than 40-year career – and particularly since being tapped as CSG’s first full-time Managing Member in 2016.

Dan has since led CSG through rapid growth – expanding its New York presence with a steadily growing office at 11 Times Square; adding a Short Hills, New Jersey office in March 2020; strategically increasing its breadth of practices by leveraging the backgrounds and skills of the firm’s future leaders; and hiring dozens of new attorneys with an eye toward increasing diversity across the organization.

Notably, 2019 was an exciting year at CSG that brought much of Dan’s thoughtful planning to fruition with several marquee additions to the CSG family. It was also a record-breaking year: attorney headcount surpassed the 160 mark and firmwide revenues checked in above $70 million for the first time in firm history.

Even faced with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the firm has stayed true to one of its primary foundational principles: togetherness. While CSG employees were promptly dispatched from the office and into a remote work environment for their safety, they have all spent the last five months tuning into regular Zoom town halls led by Dan and other members of CSG’s Executive Committee. These calls provide information about firm developments, as well as a lighthearted, reassuring discussion outlining the importance of keeping tabs on one’s physical and emotional health during these times. Further, to date, not one CSG employee has experienced a lay-off, furlough or pay cut – yet another testament to Dan and other leaders’ foresight, business acumen and financial planning.

“As a practicing attorney, Dan fervently pursued and defended his clients’ interests,” noted Francis J. Giantomasi, Executive Committee Member. “As the leader of a firm that has continued on its upward trajectory under his watchful eye and steady hand, that same passion has helped position CSG for years of sustained momentum, prosperity and unity.”
