Team CSG Pitches in to Fight Food Insecurity in New Jersey This Holiday Season

Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (“CSG”) is delighted to report that the virtual food drive hosted by the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee in support of The Community FoodBank of New Jersey, the State’s largest anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization, well exceeded its initial fundraising goal of $3,000 – totaling over $10,000 in funds raised by members of the immediate and extended CSG family.

These funds will provide more than 30,000 meals to families in need across New Jersey at a time when food insecurity in the State is projected to rise by 56% – an increase of 431,060 additional New Jersey residents.

“Our employees have proven time and again to be caring, giving and strongly unified around a deep sense of community – and I could not be more proud of the groundswell of support behind this critical initiative,” noted Shirley U. Emehelu, Chair of CSG’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and a Member with the firm’s Litigation Group. “We have much to be grateful for this holiday season, and the compassion and kindness of the CSG family is near the top of my list.”

Notably, the virtual food drive is the third of CSG’s major charitable endeavors since its employees went largely remote in March – with more than $24,000 raised in June in support of the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice and over $5,000 raised to support the 44,000 healthcare workers at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and New Jersey’s RWJBarnabas Health system in May.
