CSG's Jason Holt Elected to NJILGA Board of Trustees

Jason Holt, a Member with Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC’s (“CSG”) Real Estate, Development & Land Use Group, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Institute of Local Government Attorneys (“NJILGA”), an organization dedicated to promoting education and professionalism among local government attorneys and assisting members of the legal profession to better serve local governments in New Jersey.

Since joining CSG, Jason — a seasoned attorney with more than two decades of experience in state and local government, municipal corporations, turnaround strategy, litigation and fiscal management — has drawn upon his background navigating the political and economic challenges that arise throughout the redevelopment process to assist municipalities and developers in drafting and negotiating redevelopment plans and agreements, as well as Payment in Lieu of Taxes (“PILOT”) agreements, tax appeals and tax exemptions.

Prior to joining the firm, Jason was with Atlantic City’s Department of Administration, where he originally served as City Solicitor charged with overseeing the municipality’s legal affairs. In 2016, he was selected by the DCA as the city’s Business Administrator to assist in the implementation of the Municipal Stabilization & Recovery Act. In addition, Jason previously served as Corporation Counsel to the City of East Orange, where he oversaw the broad spectrum of the city’s legal affairs, and held other high-profile municipal and judicial roles in Essex County.

The NJILGA presently has a membership of approximately 300 attorneys engaged in the representation of various local government units throughout the State, including municipalities, counties, planning and zoning boards, utilities authorities, and other local government entities.
