CSG Announces 2021 Promotions

Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (“CSG”) is pleased to announce six attorney promotions, three to Member and three to Counsel, effective January 1, 2021.

“2020 was a year like no other at our firm, bringing with it many exciting milestones as well as unprecedented challenges,” said Managing Member Daniel A. Schwartz. “We owe our ability to thrive during these times to our devoted employees who have faced adversity with extraordinary determination, compassion and skill. As we continue to serve our valued clients and engage with our surrounding communities, the added contributions of our newly elevated team members only adds to my confidence in the future success of our firm."

Promotions to Member are as follows:

Michael R. Caruso focuses his practice on creditors’ rights in Chapter 11 bankruptcy, commercial mortgage foreclosure, equipment finance and leasing, and business insolvency. He guides clients on non-performing commercial loans and leases, secured transactions, distressed real estate, tax liens, and other assets both in and out of bankruptcy court. Michael represents financial institutions, court appointed receivers and trustees, equipment lessors, healthcare companies, and real estate investors. Michael earned his J.D. from Rutgers Law School and his B.A. from Rutgers University.

Scott C. Hollander represents individual, government, and corporate clients in sensitive and high stakes matters. His practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, complex commercial litigation and e-discovery, routinely guiding clients through compliance, regulatory, litigation and corporate governance challenges. Scott earned his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Patrick T. Mottola advises industrial, commercial and developer clients on a variety of issues related to Brownfield redevelopment, site remediation, real estate and corporate transactions, regulatory compliance and permitting, and resolution of enforcement and litigated matters. In addition to his legal experience, Patrick previously held managerial roles with GE Capital, where served as Senior Manager of Environmental Risk in the financing of complex transactions, and a national environmental engineering and consulting firm, where he served as a geologist and project manager. Patrick earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and his A.B. from Hamilton College.

Promotions to Counsel are as follows:

Richard A. Cheng represents clients in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in a variety of technical fields, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, robotic process automation, computer systems, and telecommunications. He earned his J.D. from the University at Buffalo Law School and his B.S. in electrical engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Brigitte M. Gladis focuses her practice on litigation, professional liability, and white collar criminal defense and government investigations. She handles a variety of complex litigation matters across different industries, including professional liability matters, contract and partnership disputes, shareholder oppression claims, and government investigations. Brigitte earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, her M.A. from University of Pennsylvania, and her B.A. from Rutgers University.

John A. Soltesz, III represents clients in a wide range of environmental matters, including those related to cost-recovery actions in state and federal court, regulatory compliance, and complex transactional and development issues. In addition to his litigation and regulatory practice, John assists clients with complex transactional and development issues with a focus on the acquisition and redevelopment of environmentally impacted properties in both New Jersey and New York. He earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and his B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Rutgers University.
