Healthcare Data Under Attack

Please join us for a program on the latest trends in healthcare information cybersecurity and how best to respond.

The healthcare industry is being hit hard by cyberattacks. The statistics are alarming. Since January of this year, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services received 51 reports of healthcare information breaches that each affected 500 or more individuals, 11 of which were hacking incidents. As reported by the Financial Times, over 100 million medical records were hacked in 2015 alone—100 times more than ever before—and 8 of the 10 largest healthcare information hacks occurred in 2015. According to another recent report, the healthcare sector experienced 42.5% of all data breaches since 2013, significantly more than any other industry.

We can only expect this unfortunate trend will continue. Healthcare entities and their business associates need to be prepared now.

Learn from our distinguished panelists as they discuss the latest in healthcare information cybersecurity and best practices, including:

  • Recent cyberattacks, including ransomware attacks, and lessons learned
  • Conducting risk assessments
  • Identifying and mitigating cyber risk
  • Responding to breaches
  • Assessing cyber insurance coverage
