CSG Recognized with 2019 Environmental Leadership Medal by CIANJ

CSG's Environmental Group celebrates Earth Day 2018 at the Great Swamp Watershed Association's Conservation Management Area in Harding Township, NJ.

CSG is pleased to announce that its Environmental Group has been awarded with the 2019 Environmental Leadership Medal by the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ).

The award recognizes businesses across the state with a proven commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainability, energy conservation, community involvement and recycling.

Award winners were featured in the April 2019 issue of CIANJ's COMMERCE Magazine – where Dennis M. Toft, Chair of the firm's Environmental Group, shared an inside look at the many ways CSG attorneys have contributed towards the betterment of the environment, saying:

"From shepherding environmental legislation to assisting local communities, CSG attorneys routinely demonstrate their dedication to the environment. Our attorneys serve on various environmental boards and civic groups. For example, CSG's John Valeri is Chair of the New Jersey Clean Air Council; I chair the New Jersey Brownfields Task Force; and Diana Buongiorno serves on Ringwood's Zoning Board and Open Space Commission. This is in addition to ad hoc groups where our environmental attorneys are called upon by the NJDEP and the New Jersey Legislature to offer input into new environmental laws and regulations regarding natural resource damages, site remediation reform and public access. CSG's Environmental Group also partners with local conservation organizations as part of its annual service project. In recent years, we have assisted with the development of a rain garden at the New Weis Center in Ringwood; the revitalization of the Great Swamp Watershed Association's Conservation Management Area in Harding Township; and the cleanup of the Spruce Run Reservoir in Clinton. Much like for our clients, environmental protection and sustainability is a priority at CSG. As such, we value opportunities to work and volunteer in service of the environment, developing relationships that run deeper than the delivery of legal services."

CSG's Environmental Group and fellow honorees will be recognized this Friday, April 26, 2019, at an awards breakfast at the Glen Ridge Country Club.
