CSG Continues Positive Momentum in New York; Adds Three New Attorneys to Form Immigration, Alternative Capital Law Groups
Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (“CSG”) is pleased to announce the arrival of attorneys Samuel Newbold, Clem G. Turner and Caroline Murphy in CSG’s New York office. Newbold and Turner join as members in the firm’s Employment and Corporate & Securities Groups, respectively; Murphy joins as an employment associate. The arrival of Newbold and Murphy marks the creation of the firm’s new Immigration Law Group, which Newbold will chair. Turner will spearhead CSG’s newly-formed Alternative Capital practice area.
Newbold advises U.S.-based and multinational companies, executives and investors on employment-related matters involving E, H, L and O nonimmigrant visas, as well as EB-1, EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas. In addition to his role as Chair of CSG’s Immigration Law Group, Newbold will manage the firm’s EB-5 Immigration practice – providing immigration counsel to foreign investors throughout the EB-5 process, as well as regional centers and developers looking to utilize EB-5 capital in their projects.
Turner specializes in corporate and securities law, including early-stage and venture capital financing, private and public equity financing, and mergers and acquisitions. In addition to his role within the Corporate & Securities Group, Turner will lead CSG’s new Alternative Capital practice – which encompasses the group’s EB-5 Corporate and Crowd Financing disciplines. Turner has counseled on offshore EB-5 offerings ranging from “direct” $1 million raises up to complex $400 million raises.
Over the course of their careers, Newbold and Turner have collectively advised on more than 250 EB-5 transactions totaling over $3 billion in the aggregate.
Murphy works with offshore investors in both direct investment and regional center petitions, and has counseled individual EB-5 investors on Source of Funds; Path of Funds; Office of Foreign Assets Control and other requirements. Her experience spans working with large corporate clients and startups seeking E, H and L nonimmigrant visas, as well as extraordinary ability individuals, including entrepreneurs and entertainers.
