Surety Bond Quarterly: Bonding Set-Aside Contractors - What Bond Producers And Sureties Should Know About Potential False Claims Act Liability

Armen Shahinian and Brian Kantar were published in the Spring 2019 issue of Surety Bond Quarterly with an article titled, "Bonding Set-Aside Contractors: What Bond Producers and Sureties Should Know About Potential False Claims Act Liability."

In the article, they examine the decision in Scollick v. Narula, which potentially exposes sureties to False Claims Act liability arising out of the underwriting and issuance of bonds for disadvantaged business enterprises (DBEs), as well as best practices to help mitigate said liability.
